Badrun Nahar Khan is a first-generation immigrant and the eldest daughter of Bengali born parents who migrated to the U.S. in search of a better life. Born and raised in New York, Badrun is the married mother of two beautiful, teenage daughters.
As a teenager, Badrun studied hard and worked outside school hours in her parents’ restaurant. She found the time on weekends to serve as translator in her community, and later graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College. For the past seven years, Badrun has worked as a financial officer for a large school. Badrun remains heavily involved in her Bengali Community in Queens and throughout the city. She was recently elected the President of the Jalalabad Association, whose members number over 14,000 people. Today, her service extends well beyond the Bengali community. She is an active presence in schools and service to all in her Queens community, and volunteered and served with honor as member of Community Board 2. Badrun is a tireless activist for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Her voice will be heard, not only in the halls of government, but on each street in our district. She will become the voice that will represent all New Yorkers. |
BADRUN KHAN HAS SPENT HER ENTIRE LIFE FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE, EQUALITY AND FAIRNESS IN HER COMMUNITY.
